P E R F O R M A N C E   E X C E L L E N C E   B A S I C S   ( P E B )

In response to requests from NZ organisations in-house Performance Excellence Basics (PEB) briefings, which introduce the principles of performance excellence and provide access to current performance evaluation, are now available.

PEB briefings are available throughout the year. Each briefing takes approximately 2.5 hours and includes

• a practical user friendly explanation of the basic Performance Excellence criteria
• access to the PEB diagnostic template. The template is a short version of the Performance Excellence Study Awards (PESA) Criteria which requires less time to complete than a full PESA Application
• the opportunity for current performance to be assessed by an independent Baldrige trained external evaluator. As PEB briefings are available throughout the year and are not tied to any application deadline, organisations are able to choose when they complete the template and seek the external evaluation. Feedback from the external evaluation provides direction on how to improve performance.

Any organisation hosting an in-house PEB briefing is also eligible to participate in the annual PESA Study Visit to USA.

PEB briefings are the only means of accessing the PEB template. The cost of an in-house PEB briefing, including registration to use the PEB template, is $2700+gst.

Under the PESA programme a PEB briefing subsidy is available to

• local government, i.e. all local authorities, and
• suppliers and partners of current and past PESA applicants

This subsidy reduces the cost of a PEB briefing to Councils and suppliers/partners of PESA applicants to $800+gst.
